Action Steps to Take Charge of your Depression

Depression Management and Empowerment action steps  to Help you Manage  your depression
Presentation by: Janelle M.

Depression tends to drain  you and  make  you feel helpless, but that  does make  you helpless.
While overcoming depression is not quick or easy, it is possible. You can’t beat it by sheer willing it BUT you can have and  do have  some  control…even if  your depression is stubborn and  persistent.
You have  to step up to help yourself , even if  you don’t feel like it. For the first  couple of  days treat this as a job  and make a  schedule…you don’t have  to want to …just  do it, take  charge and  empower  change. Intervene with a structured routine.
Remember: Sometimes the things that help us most are the most difficult to do. There is a difference between difficult and impossible!
Here are the  action steps  you can implement  daily that  will have  positive  results:
Start  small and  stay focused.
Start the day with  shower,
Healthy breakfast
 Exercise at least 10 2 x a day.
Get 5-10min. of sun
Avoid and re frame any negative thoughts.
Count your blessings.
Make contact with a loved one daily.
Avoid shows that are anxiety producing.
Limit caffeine
Limit sugar
Fight the good  fight. Everyone  can  empower themselves to improve recovery.
Start today.
